Sharon Jones Interview's Grace Potter

We got the pleasure of watching two of our favorite female voices interview each other in 2008 on board the Jam Cruise. At this time the cycles were beginning to spin rapidly on the rising careers of these two stars. Since then both ladies have gained critical acclaim and built strong musical foundations. Fans adore them both and we quickly see why in this stellar Star-on-Star interview.

Grace Potter has been a touring phenomenon for the past decade. Playing rollicking rock shows reminiscent of a young Jefferson Airplane and as exciting as a Rolling Stones show, she is an ultimate force. Her website offers the proper dose of her tunes to get you in the mood and don't let the Nocturnals fool you, they may be the best backing band in the world.

Sharon Jones is a woman of serious soul. She spent her life singing throughout churches, talent-shows, and as a backing vocalist for some of funk and souls finest. As her career developed and the incredible Dap-Kings joined with her in the early 2000's she took off for the stars. With album after album full of hits, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings have worked their way to the forefront of the funk and soul revivalist movements. they are farrrrrr from a "backing band"!!!!! At least its put as "best in the world" but in a way that's kind of like saying their the best of the worst. Not good enough to be considered a band on their own but the better than all other back-ups? Honestly, without the Nocturnals there would be no grace and i wouldn't go see her anymore. I guess that's what Blues and Lazers is for.! Sorry if it's cruel but it's getting pretty old that since grace has been on MTV troops thing people feel like "they've discovered her now" jeeze man i saw her in 2006 in Northampton, Mass opening for Mike Gordon and that was well into their established touring career. They've been in festival lineups for years, please pop fans, don't ruin her and think u've "discovered" good music, MTV just told u its good so u listened and to Grace - don't sell out, start changing ur set lists again and Franti could use the same advice....THANKS ICLIPS FOR EVERYTHING U DO!
