korm5421, what a pompous a-hole u r. i could knock the sox of ur "resume" (first saw dead after jerry smoked me out @ fillmore east in '69, worked on who's american debut of tommy, seen pearl jam more than u, should i continue?) socojam in his honest, youthful response shows more maturity & insight than ur self-inflated bs! like willie once said, life is two stories wide, so there is room 4 both ur opinions, but 2 come down on socojam as inferior 2 u is just egotistic nonsense & u deserve 2 get knocked down 4 it bigtime!

If you can only watch this show because a headliner is being broadcast.. then you are a sad person.. Like I said before.. Iclips always does their best to get the headliners to play.. sometimes it just dosent work..I highly doubt you made any difference to what was being broadcat as an individual Korm.. And I thought you weren't watching anyway?

By your responses socojam, I realize how immature you really must be. I will put my lelvel of music knowledge, taste, collection of shows, etc. against your any day of the week. Witnessed Nirvana in Concert back in 1989. Have seen Bruce Springsteen in concert 20 times. Have seen the Who over 10 times, and Pearl Jam 8 times. Should I keep going sir? And by the way, I do listen & watch the opening acts when I attend headlining shows, which has nothing to do with my posts regarding Iclips inability to webcast a headliner. Way to go Iclips with the Dave Matthews Band webcast on Monday. Thank you for listening. I hope you are able to convince other artists to join in as well.

The PPV series have been GREAT! And there will be more of those to come as well, look for an announcement this weekend of a PPV series with an ACL artist coming this month.

Hey Korm, take a look at the Monday night broadcast

Wow, Korm, where to begin....
I'm not even going to bother to read the previous posts that somehow worked you into a self loving egomaniac frenzy, but i can't help but laugh at the last couple.
You tout yourself as music fan number 1 becuase of your cd collection (most of which probably suck) a rare video collection and seeing 500 shows in 35 years.
Well not to knock you off of your high horse but im just a lowly 24 year old who has seen more shows than you have in your so called 35 years of concertgoing. If you really loved music something tells me you might actually have listened to some of those opening acts, instead or being arrogant.
Iclips tried to have pay-per view series, i think if that model worked well then we wouldn't be seeing this for free. Obviously they didn't receive enough to cover costs and are moving in the direction of advertising and subsidizing their overhead via the same sponsors that support the festivals they broadcast.
In conclusion, and i don't think I'm alone here, please go back to the Pitchfork Festival and hang out with all the other acid washed burnouts and leave the one outlet trying to give something back alone.

First off, I probably know more about music than anyone in this forum. I have a collection of over 5,000 cds and RARE concert videos that rivals no one in the world.
Second, free is great. I have no complaints or issues with the webcast being free. I do have a complaint that Iclips can not negotiate even 1 headliner to allow their set to be shown from 3 of the major festivals it broadcast from this past summer. Even Pitchfork.com was able to webcast ALL 3 headliners from their 2009 festival this past summer, including the Flaming Lips.

Being a resident of Austin, I can tell you first hand that the best part of this festival is not the headliners its the local and undergroud artist who aren't heard otherwise because people like Korm5421 think that because they havent heard of the band the suck! You have no idea what your talking about and you should be thankful that FREE music can still exists today where almost everything cost too much!

You cant just say "sponsorship or not" like it dosent make a difference because it does. Like I said before.. you didnt pay for a ticket.. it wasent an option to.. therefore you have no REAL right to complain.. and if you want to keep talking on this.. take it to Dr. Phil, because im finished with it.

First off, when the headliners where webcast on AT&T, the webcast was free, spornsorship or not. Second, not One headliner has been shown on Iclips from 2009 ALL Points West, Lollapalooza, and Now ACL. I think that's crap, free or not. And as many of us have stated this summer, we would rather pay money and see some of the headliners, than have it FREE and see no headliners at all. A FREE webcast with second tier & upcoming artists is not a big deal when you are not webcasting any headliners from a 3 day major festival. Not ONE!!!! I think that is crap, and I will not be watching this weekend, even though it is free.

First off, we are all entitled to our opinions woodstock. I have been a music fan for over 35 years, and have seen over 500 concerts. Not very often have a gone to a show, wanting to see the opening acts. I mainly buy tickets and attend shows to see the headliners, and am sometimes pleasantly surprised by a opening artist. In the past when AT&T has webcast from some of the same festival as I Clips has this past summer, they have always been able to get permission to webcast one of the headliners(Metallica, Pearl Jam, The White Stripes, Wilco, Bjork, Arcade Fire, just to name a few). I would gladly pay whatever is asked in order to see AT LEAST ONE HEADLINER from ANY of the Major festivals.

And do you really think, in your right mind, that Iclips dident ask those headliners if they wanted to be broadcast? The bands DO have the option of saying no.. which always does SUCK.. but we cant moan and groan about it like we paid for a 800$ ticket.. because we dident..

Dude.. there are still 4.. thats right.. countem 4 TBA's left. Why cant we just chill instead of talking crap about all the things we wanted to see.. but might not be able..? Bottom line .. if you want to pick and choose..Then you should have saved the money and bought a ticket.

All I'm saying is that many people like popular acts. If you are not able to attend the festival, it would be nice to see at least one of the 3 headliners perform. To see not one from any of the major festivals this past concert season is disappointing to say the least.

Although i will not watch most of the acts, getting MMW, thievery, clutch, and the toadies should keep me entertained over the weekend.
Thank you Iclips, do not listen to alot of the bad ideas floating around this place.

Where are Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Bamd, Kings of Leon, Yeah Yeah Yeahs? Even YouTube was able to negotiate the DMB headlining set to be shown on their very first webcast from the 2009 Outside Land festival in August.

Once again thanks for all of your efforts with this weekends schedule, but still very disappointing that we are not able to see not one of the 3 headliners from this weekends ACL fest. I think I echo many of the viewers on this site, to many repeats of the same acts from each of this summers free couch tour webcasts, and not even ONE headliner shown from any of the major festivals.

Ok.. just a few comments..newer bands/different bands are always a plus.. with that being said.. Some people DO like BH&R7.. im not stating that im one, but you cant be selfish and say "Weve seen it already, dont show it", because some people look forward to the bands YOU may dislike. Iclips will do their best (like always) to get the better/rare'r/different bands, and (LIKE ALWAYS) you have the option to watch, or to do something else why the "other" bands are on.. Sorry folks.. im just kinda irked that some people think the Iclips shows should be fit to a T with their schedule, or ONLY the bands they like/want. Iclips will play.. what Iclips can play.. nuff said..
.. see ya then FestHeads.. :)

I agree with artmaven. No need to webcast the same bands we have seen numerous times from different festivals this past summer.
It would be nice to see some new bands, as well as at least one of the 3 headliners this upcoming weekend. Pearl Jam would be AMAZING to see, especially with a new killer album out.

Hope to see an eclectic group of artists/bands webcast this weekend from the 2009 ACL Festival. If at ALL possible, would LUV to see The Raveonettes,Pearl Jam and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I do not know if you can pull off Pearl Jam, but they did in fact let their set be webcast from Lollapalooza back in 2007.
