I was personally at this show. The whole band was loud. If you listen to a live audio download of this show, the mixing is really incredible. The acoustics at The Pageant is just sub par.

As a longtime lotus fan, i can honestly say turn down Luke's guitar if anything. Mike is great. Luke, stay on the keys.

to bazzm001: i agree with brenemano. your crazy man. get over it. thats why lotus is so great. remple is what gives lotus there rock/funk edge. i think with out him they would be all electronic. it is lotus's fusion of all musicians, and genres that make them who they are. with out remple there is no lotus. just the same as if there were no jesse, luke, etc. they all make up the band.

I think bazzm001 is a little crazy. people are entitled to there own opinions. That being said these guys are breaking ground and moving into new and unknown territories, not for your benefit, but b/c this is where they want to go as musicians. They have studied music and are in this business not b/c they want to make millions, but b/c they want to push the boundaries. You may not appreciate the guitar front and center, but believe you me there are plenty who do. Maybe a rave would be a better place for ya>>>

I have seen them live three times and have never noticed the guitars being too loud at the show. I think remple is an outstanding guitarist and compliments the groove very well. They are definitely one of the best live bands out there right now, cant wait for them to headline Red Rocks!

ok, i am admittedly a huge homer for these guys and will say that they are my favorite live band in any genre. their studio stuff rocks as well. with that said, there is wayyy too much of remple's guitar on this recording. it unfortunately drowns out the thumping whomp whomp of jesse's top notch bass playing, luke's versatile keys/guitar attack, and greenfield's silky smooth drumming. i'm not saying i don't like remple, but i listen to lotus for the orchestration and funky grooves, not soaring, overbearing guitar riffs. age of inexperience is one of my fave songs but this particular recording really illustrates my point. i do think they sound a little better with an additional percussionist (chuck, who's out with a baby) but most importantly they need to take remple's guitar from about a 10 to a 2. i hope the masters of instrumental post rock funktronica hear this loud and clear....if they can hear anything over remple's friggin loud guitar! sorry to be critical but these guys are the top of the heap and i want the best for myself and all!
